St. Bede's A.C. - Yorkshire & Humberside region club of the year (off track) 2007


If you've visited the club web site recently you will have seen that St. Bede's have been honoured by being awarded the title Yorkshire & Humberside region club of the year (off track) 2007 for our efforts in organising the John Carr 5k series, the Bradford Millennium Way relay, our work with the Aire Valley athletics partnership and all the other things we are involved with.
 

Club Silver Jubilee

Preparations are now well in hand for the Silver Jubilee dinner to be held on Saturday 17th November at the Dubrovnik Hotel, Oak Avenue, Bradford.  Tickets costing £25 which includes a 3 course meal, guest speaker Peter Elliot (the 1988 Olympic 1500m silver medallist and 1990 Commonwealth 1500m gold medallist) and Disco afterwards are available from Graham Eastell or contact any member of the committee. It should be a good night so keep the date free in your diary.  If you are in contact with an ex club members then please let them know about the event.

West Yorkshire Winter League 2007/2008

The dates and venues for the 2007/2008 winter league series have now been confirmed.  We did very well last season and need to build on our improvement.  The dates are:

Sunday 11th November - Buck Woods hosted by Idle A.C.
Sunday 2nd December - hosted by Dewsbury
Sunday 6th January - hosted by Pudesy Pacers
Sunday 27th January - hosted by Stainland
Sunday 24th February - hosted by Skipton A.C.

Book them in your diary now.

Club AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the club is scheduled for Tues. 27th November at Esholt.

Calderdale Way relay

We have 2 teams entered for the Calderdale Way relay on Sunday 9th December. If you would like to run then please let me know ASAP so I can start pairing people up.

World Cross-Country Championships 2008

The 2008 world cross-country championships are being held on Sunday 30th March in Holyrood park, Edinburgh.  Mick Jones and myself thought it would be good to go up and watch, if anyone else is interested let me know and we can try and organise a weekend of it.  There is also a mass 5k road race on the Sunday morning followed by the opening ceremony at 1:00 the 4 races between 1:30 and 3:30, presentation at 3:30 and a live band at 4:00.
